Vintage '70s Univox /Matsumoku U1885 Custom Single Cut Electric Guitar!

Gloss Black Finish w/ Gold Hardware & Cream Binding!

This is really cool. You are looking at a Vintage '70s Univox /Matsumoku U1885 Les Paul Custom. Built by Matsumoku for Univox in the 1970's. Matsumoku is considered to be the highest quality of the Japanese guitar builders. Great Playing and Sounding Guitar. Very Cool Filtertron style copy Humbuckers. Sound very good. Hot. Lots of punch.

This is a "Lawsuit" Guitar. Matsumoku and other Japanese builders did such a high quality copy of Gibson's, Fender's and Martins, that there was actually a threat by those USA manufacturers against the Japanese builders for copyright infringement. This was one of those guitars. It has the "Open Book Headstock" that is a Gibson trademark. Anyway, the Japanese builders backed down and their never was a lawsuit. They had to change their designs so they did not blatantly copy the USA models.

Affordable Japanese Vintage from the "Golden Days" of Japanese Guitars!

Cosmetics: Good "Relic" Condition. There are scuffs, scratches, chips, dings and dents on both sides of the body. This is a "Players" guitar. If you are not into the "Relic" look of a well used guitar, keep looking. This is not for you. But, if you do like the authentic wear on a guitar, you'll love this Univox. Neck and fingerboard in great shape. Headstock has scratches at the tip on the backside. (See picture #8). Gold hardware is faded and pitted. Dripping with "Mojo". It is used. Not perfect. Overall, a really nice guitar. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
