Vintage 1961 Fender Bandmaster!
Matching 2x12 Cabinet! Rare Blonde Tolex!
This is really cool. You are looking at a Vintage Pre-CBS 1961 Fender Bandmaster amplifier. This is a very rare Blonde with Oxblood grill cloth. 6G7 "Brownface" amp circuit. The 6G(n) ("brownface") circuit was used in several Fender amplifiers, including the Bandmaster. It produces 40 watts into 4 ohms. The circuit was used from 1960 until July 1963. "Blonde" aficionados feel this circuit has superior tonal characteristics when overdriven and is better than the AB763 circuit that Fender began using in July 1963. Point to Point Hand Wiring.
This is an AWESOME sounding Amp. If you are after those vintage 1960's tones, this is the right choice. The vibrato is lush and full. Very "Classic Fender" Sound. When Overdriven, this Amp becomes a Beast! From Blues to early '60s rock to surf, the Bandmaster will do it all!
This amp is about 90% original. The original speakers have been changed. The good news is that they are modern versions of the original speakers. In 1961, this amp came with either Oxford or Jensen C12N's. The current speakers are Jensen C12N's one from the year 2000 and the other from 2001. The only other non-original items, are the Choke and Output Transformers. Again, the good news is that the replaced transformers are both Fender parts and they are both vintage transformers. The Choke is from 1961, and the Output is from 1967. Also, the ac cord has been upgraded to a grounded 3-prong cord. The one button footswitch is not original, it is brand new.

Our amp tech serviced this amp for the sale. He cleaned all pots, jacks and tube sockets. Checked and re-biased tubes. Installed a grounded ac cord. Everything functions and works correctly. Gig Ready on Arrival. You won't have to spend any additional monies on this amp.
Serial Number: #03295
Cosmetics: Excellent Condition. Keep in mind that this is a 58+ year old vintage amp that has been used. There are some scuffs, scratches and minor tears in the Tolex. There are some stains on the top of the amp in the blonde tolex. (See picture #5). There is what looks to be a small cigarette burn and a round half dollar size mark on the top. Grill Cloth has some wear. A few frays in the Speaker Cabinet grill cloth. Not really tears, just frays. Dripping with "Mojo". It is used. Not perfect. Overall, a really nice amp. Better than normal wear and tear. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
