Up for Sale is a
Vintage 1971 Fender Precision Bass!
Rootbeer Finish! Hard Shell Case!
This is really cool. You are looking at a Vintage 1971 Fender Precision Bass. This is a Bass that I acquired from the original owner. The only things that are original, are the Neck, Body and Tuners.
Our Luthier Re-Finished the body in a Rootbeer Brownish-Red finish that was only available in the early 1970's. All electronics (pots, pickups, wiring) is modern. Same with the pickguard, neck plate and bridge.
But How Does It Sound? This Bass Thuuuumps! Sounds and plays Great. Nothing quite sounds like these Iconic Precision Basses from the 1970's.
The only serial number I have is the Neck Stamp. The number is: 01012113. The last four numbers give the date - 21= 21st week, 1 = year (1971), 3 = 3rd day (Wednesday). (See picture #11). Again, with the Pots being changed and the original serial number was on the neck plate, this is all I have to go on other than the former owner stating that he purchased it at West L.A. Music in Hollywood, CA. in 1971.
Awesome Players Bass!
Our luthier did a complete setup. Brand new strings were installed. Gig ready on Arrival!
Neck Serial Number: #01012113
Nut Width: 1.59"
Weight: 9.30 lbs.
Complete Package w / Aria Hard Shell Case Included!
Due to CITES Treaty for Endangered Wood (Mahogany, Rosewood) We no longer ship out of the USA.
Cosmetics: Good Condition. The body just being refinished looks great. Neck has some wear marks from being used. Some scratches on the back of the neck as well as on the Headstock. Keep in mind that this is a 47 year old vintage bass. The Aria case does not fit exactly right, but it still works. All latches work. Still solid and tight, but you should really get a better case that fits right. Dripping with "Mojo". It is used. Not perfect. Overall, a really nice guitar. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
